The Centre received the Ford Foundation grant in 1993. This endowment gives an opportunity for providing scholarships to PhD research scholars and Masters students (based on their academic performance), for holding Centre seminars and making additions to the collection of journals and books to the in-house library of the Centre. The endowment has also enabled the Centre to appoint Ford Fellows, from time to time, who participate in its research and teaching activities. The current appointment of Ford Fellow is as follows.
