V.V. Krishna is a Professor in Science Policy and former Chairperson at the Centre. He has a Ph.D. in Sociology of Science from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. He has 20 years of research experience in the areas of sociology of science, science and technology policy studies and social history of science. He has published 30 research papers and four books. Prof. Krishna is also visiting Professor/Scientist at the Institute For Research and Development (IRD) & MSH, Paris, 2000-2005. He is the founder-editor of Science, Technology and Society – An International Journal devoted to the Developing World, published through Sage Publications. Prof. Krishna was a consultant to UNESCO, Paris, for its programmes on electronic publishing in the developing countries and the publication of the World Science Report 1998; Unesco Science Report 2000-2001; and 2004-2005. He was a Council Member of the Society for Social Studies of Science (4S), USA and Member, International Council for Science Policy Studies, ICSU, UNESCO, Paris.

Desai, Associate Professor, specializes in science, technology and international affairs and is currently engaged in teaching analysis in science and technology policy and technology assessment and forecasting. Dr. Desai holds a M.Phil and PhD in Science Policy Studies. His recent work includes Science, Technology and International Cooperation, Har- Anand Publications, 1997, Cosatal Marine Environment of Gujarat (IV Volumes), Gujarat Ecological Society, 1997-1998, and Science, Technology, Costal Zone Management and Policy, Allied Publishers, 2003.
Rohan D'Souza

He was awarded his PhD from the Centre for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has worked on the technology of hydraulic manipulation in the Indian subcontinent. His publications and concerns range from issues dealing with environmental history, the political economy of nature conservation and history of technology. He has held postdoctoral fellowships at Yale University, University of California (Berkeley) and was a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for World Environmental History, University of Sussex.

Dr. Bhaduri holds a Ph.D in Economics from the Centre for Studies in Diplomacy, International Law & Economics, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Prior to his joining this position, he was Lecturer at Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, Research Scientist at JNU and Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He has several peer reviewed national and international publications to his credit in the areas of R&D, technology generation and development. He works on issues of Co-evolution, Innovation System, Globalization & WTO, Pharmaceutical Industry and Health Care.

He is a science graduate from Canning College, Lucknow and has passed M.A. in Sociology with first position in order of merit from the University of Lucknow. He holds M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees from the Centre for the Study of Social System, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Prior to his joining the present position he was a lecturer at Government P.G. College Kota, Rajasthan. He has participated and presented papers in various national and international seminars and conferences. He has published articles and books in the area of science, technology and society relationship. His recent publication is a book entitles: Sociology of Science. Anmol Publication, New Delhi, 2006. His broad area of interest are: Sociology of Science and Technology; Modern Science and Traditional Knowledge; Research Methodology in Social Sciences.
