2. Paper Presentations:

a)  Presented a paper based on her research entitled 'Globalisation and Intellectual Property Legislation: Protection of Traditional Knowledge and Plant Varieties' at the 15th International Congress of the Commission of Folk Law and Legal Pluralism held in Depok, Indonesia with the theme 'Law, Power and Culture: Transnational, National and Local Processes in the Context of Legal Pluralism. This paper was compiled in a CD as part of the proceedings of the Congress, Ruchi Pant, Direct Ph.D (2004-05).

b)  Shared findings of her research at an international forum in the meetings of the two Working Groups under the Convention on Biological Diversity - on Article 8(j) and Access and Benefit Sharing held in Granada, Spain, January 2006, Ruchi Pant.

c)  Shared findings of her research at the meeting of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Asia - Pacific Forum on Traditional Knowledge and Traditional Cultural Expressions held in Cochin organised by Cochin University for Science and Technology (2-4 April 2006), Ruchi Pant.

d)  Junior Research Fellowship to Finland by the Mahanirban Calcutta Research Group (MCRG) as part of their Indo-Finnish Exchange Programme – hosted by Tampere Peace Research Institute (TAPRI), Tampere, Finland, February 11-19, 2007.  Presented a paper on 'Rights of Development-Induced Persons in India'. e)  Presented a paper on Representation and Displacement: A Study of ‘Stateless’ Tibetan Refugees and Bangladeshi ‘Migrants’ in India’ at an International Workshop on ‘Representation and Displacement: Refugees, IDPs and Stateless Persons in State and Nation’ held at the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford, U.K., February 9-10, 2007 Priyanca Mathur Velath.

f)   Participant of the Fourth Winter Course on Forced Migration conducted by the Mahanirban Calcutta Research Group (MCRG), Kolkata December 1-15, 2006 Priyanca Mathur Velath.

g)  Presented a paper on Rights of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Development-Induced-Displaced (DID) in India – A Study across Policy, Law and Theory’ at IASFM10 Conference, (International Association for the Study of Forced Migration) held at the Centre for Refugee Studies, York University, Toronto, Canada, June 18-22, 2006 Priyanca Mathur Velath.

h)  Presented a paper at a conference in Helsinki and a conference in Paris, both on the subject of my thesis Priyanca Mathur Velath.

i)   Attended the Summer School on Governance and Social Protection Policy in Maastricht, held by the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, University of Maastricht, the Netherlands and presented a paper entitled “Welfare State, Social Protection Policy and the Demands of Good Governance: The case of India” – Amrita Lamba, Direct Ph.D (2004-05).

j)   Invited to make presentations before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, relating to the Bill reforming the military justice system – Umesh Chandra Jha, Direct Ph.D (2002-03).

k)  A paper titled,” Dynamics of Information & Communication Technologies and Human Rights”, presented in the National Seminar on Human Rights: Retrospect and Prospects held on 24-25 February 2007 by University of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India Chetan Basavaraj Singai (M.Phil 2006-07).

l)   Represented CSLG to participate in a discussion on ‘Youth in India’ initiated by the World Bank Country Director Mrs. Isabel Guerrero (India) along with various NGO representatives. 2007 Chetan Basavaraj Singai.
