PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Law, Technology and Development – Theoretical Explorations and Case Studies (ICSSR Research Project Grant No 02/280/2016- 17 /Rp)

Research Objectives:
- Examine the use of technology for the purpose of regulating human behavior.
- Explore the theoretical challenges faced by law in responding to technological developments.
- Explore Constitutional implications of technological developments.
- Develop an understanding of the manner in which legal frameworks can be adapted to ensure that legitimacy and accountability of technology governance frameworks may be enhanced specifically in the context of India.

POSITION SUMMARY
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with in the field of technology governance and regulation drawing largely from the perspectives of constitutional law, regulation theory and science-technology-society (STS) studies. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented law graduate interested in technology regulation in the specific context of India to be part of a small, committed and professional team. Applicants must be enthusiastic and have excellent research, writing and organizational skills. He or she should have a proven interest in law, technology governance and research methodology and willing to travel in and around NCT.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Assistant provides support to the research team:
• Assisting the team with research on legislation, case law, academic reference material online and in libraries in Delhi.
• Assisting with contact and information management;
• Assisting with drafting letters and briefings;
• Providing general logistical/organizational support to the team as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:
• BALLB/LLM with a specialization/research interest in public law, law and technology, environmental law or law and development;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• Excellent research skills;
• Accuracy and an eye for detail;
• Discretion;
• Well-organized and efficient;
• Good team player;
• Flexible and keen to learn new skills

Duration: 6 months

Number of Positions: 1 position

Salary: Rs. 16000 per month consolidated

Senior Research Fellow: One post
Salary:

Essential Qualifications: Masters degree or equivalent in Life-Sciences/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry or any other related area with minimum 60% marks and a strong academic performance since high school. The candidates should have at least 2 years research experience. JRF-NET qualified candidates will be preferred.
Desirable: Experience in animal cell-culture, basic molecular and cell biology techniques. Candidates with a background in working with Entamoeba or any other parasite will be given a preference.

Laboratory Assistant: One post
Salary:
Rs.17,000/- per months fixed
Essential Qualifications: Graduate/Class XII with minimum 2 year(s) working experience respectively in a scientific/research laboratory.
Desirable: Candidates should have a working knowledge of washing and preparation of glassware for autoclaving. Candidates with experience in operating Excel and WORD programs and handling office records and purchases will be given preference.
