Dr. Prafulla K. Pani Research Fellowship

The former Director of Central Avian Research Institute (CARI), Izatnagar (U.P.) Dr. Prafulla Kumar Pani has desired to offer a short term fellowship to a suitable candidate from the interest raised from his generous donation to the 'Special Centre for Molecular Medicine' at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. 'Dr. Prafulla K. Pani Research Fellowship' is a short term fellowship of Rs. 10,000 per month (consolidated) and is available for completing a research-based dissertation, thesis or report to be carried out at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine (SCMM).

Essential qualifications & Experience:
1. MBBS/BVSc or M.Sc. (First Class) with a minimum of one year working experience in a cell biology laboratory.
2. Experience of propagation and maintenance of mammalian cell lines.
3. Experience of molecular biology techniques.
4. Should have good communication and inter-personal skills.
5. Working knowledge of computer is essential.

Desired Experience:
1. Experience of cell biology techniques including immunofluorescence and dual color fluorescence microscopy.
2. Experience of cell-based assays including measurement of permeability.
3. Experience of basic techniques to detect protein-protein interactions.

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary posts in the DBT funded project entitled "Inhibitors of antifungal export proteins and mechanisms of resistance in Indian fungal isolates" at School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Project Assistant: 1post

Consolidated Salary: Rs. 10,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications: The Candidate should have cleared the Matric school examination conducted by any recognized board. The candidate must have minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory dealing with pathogenic and non pathogenic yeasts. The candidate should also be skilled in laboratory work such media preparation, sterilization and maintenance of small equipments. Computer knowledge will be desirable.

Data Entry Operator: 1 post

Consolidate Salary: Rs. 16,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications:
1. Candidate should have Graduate with one year diploma in computer application.
2. Three year demonstrable experience in computer database management, preparing project summaries, project reports, office correspondence, account statements of expenditures, reimbursements and other related office work and management in a research laboratory. .
3. Must also have working experience in science laboratory handling pathogenic and non pathogenic yeasts. Management of Strains/ chemicals/reference manager database etc.

These positions are completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. JNU may select candidates against the post depending upon qualification and experience of candidates and reserves the right to relax any of the qualifications in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.

Project Assistant Position –DBT Project

Applications are invited for project assistant position in DBT funded project entitled "Investigation of the interconnecting roles of ZBF1/MYC2 and HY5 in Arabidopsis seedling development and disease defense". The position is available immediately and available upto October 26, 2017

Job requirement: Growing of Arabidopsis, soil preparation, cleaning of pots and trays, laboratory reagent preparation etc,

Qualifications: Should be at least 10th pass. Should have experience in molecular biology laboratory reagent preparations. Work experience in plant growth room maintenance, especially in Arabidopsis will be preferred.

Candidates will be short-listed initially based on work experience, and only the short-listed candidates will be called for interview.

Salary: Rs 8,000/ pm consolidated.
