One student was awarded the John S.Song Award in 1997 for
outstanding work in tissue culture under my supervision. He was one of the eight
awardees from all over the world and the only Indian.
The same student was also awarded Asia Pacific Weed Science Young
Scientists Award for his work on glyphosate tolerant lines of Arachis
hypogaea L. carried out in my laboratory.
