Pratiksha Baxi holds a doctoral degree in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. Her doctoral work, an ethnographic study of rape trials in a court in Gujarat, brings together her interest in sociology of law, feminist theory and violence.

She teaches sociological perspectives of law in the first semester [LG 603 Governance II: Legal Dimensions]. The optional courses, she offers in the second semester are entitled “Enculturing Law” and “Law, Governance and Violence: Gendered Perspectives”.
