Dr. Rajiv Saxena is Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies. His recent books are “Perspectivas e innovaciones” (2009), La enseñanza de español como lengua extranjera en la India: desarrollo y desafíos” (2008) and “Simbolismo e imaginería en la poesía peruana contemporánea” (2005). He has consistent publications since 1991 and published many books, research papers in national and international journals. Presented papers in several conferences in India and abroad.

He was Editor of “Hispanic Horizon”, the internationally recognized referred and listed Indian Research Journal of Hispanic Studies and former Assistant Editor of “Papeles de la India”, the Indian Journal in Spanish published by the Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR), Government of India, New Delhi.

Board/Panel Member of University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Tourism, Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi, Indra Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Kurukshetra University, Punjabi University and several companies in India. Graduated and Doctorate from JNU and Masters degree from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, Madrid,  Spain and specialized diploma from Universidad de Alcalá, Alcalá de Henares, Spain.

Involved in research and teaching since 1992. Taught at prestigious institute, college and university like: Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi; Lady Sri Ram College (LSR), New Delhi; Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi. Former translator of “India Perspectivas”, published by the Ministry of External Affairs (Govt. of India). Provided Spanish language and Intercultural communication consultancy to several MNCs, UNIDO, ILO, various ministries of Government of India and embassies in India. Apart from teaching & research has appeared on Television and Radio programmes as an expert. Involved in diffusion and development of Spanish language in India.
