RNA, ORigins & Complexity
The ROC group is interested in various aspects of the Origin and Evolution of Life as they pertain to regulatory RNA, Genetic Code and Biological Complexity. Currently, we are specifically interested in the origin and distribution of Riboswitches (a type of regulatory RNA) across prokaryotic genomes; the origin and evolution of the genetic code and accurate regulation of mid-cell division in E.coli. We use computational modeling and bioinformatics tools to get insights into these topics.
