History of Religions – A seminar to mark the centenary of Mircea Eliade organized from 08 to 10 October 2007 in collaboration with the Embassy of Romania in India, the UGC Academic Staff College, JNU, and Nehru Museum and Library, New Delhi.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Policy of the Government of India – The first National Policy Dialogue held on 19 November 2007 in collaboration with the Nehru Memorial Musieum and Library, New Delhi.
Mahatma Gandhi and the Quest for a Just Society – An International Seminar organized at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi, on 30 and 31 January 2008. All JNIAS fellows participated in the Seminar.
Cities in Medieval India (1200-1800) – An International Seminar held on 06 and 07 March 2008 in collaboration with the Centre for Historical Studies, SSS, JNU, and the UGC Academic Staff College, JNU.
Greek Legacy in Medieval & Modern India – A Workshop was organized on 14 August 2008 by Dr. Vasileios Syros, JNIAS Fellow.
Early Iconography with a Special Focus on the Art and Archaeology of Central Asia and Gandhara – A month-long workshop/training programme was conducted in October 2008 in collaboration with the School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU, and the Department of Art History, Vienna University, Austria.
National Building in Asia – Panel No. 4 of the 20th Conference of International Association of Historians of Asia was organized on 15-17 November 2008.
Discover the British Library – A Session with Graham Shaw, Head of Asia, Pacific and Africa Collections, Penny Brook, Head of India Office Records, and others from the British Library, was held on 19 November 2008.
King’s College Colloquium was organized on 19 November 2008. The Speakers at the Colloquium included Prof. Richard Drayton, Rhodes Professor of Imperial History, Dr. Jon Wilson and Dr. Nandini Chatterjee, all from the Department of History, King’s College, London.
The Dynamics of Religious Pluralism – Conflicts, Assimilation and Innovation in Pre-Modern India – A Workshop was organized on 18-19 February 2009. The Workshop was coordinated by Prof. Christine Chojnacki, JNIAS Fellow, and Dr. Najaf Haider of the Centre for Historical Studies, JNU.

The Colloquium was coordinated by Prof. Marta Dvorak, JNIAS Fellow, and Prof. GJV Prasad, Chairperson, Centre of English Studies, SLL&CS, JNU.
The Transformation of the International Order of Asia in the 1950s and 1960s – An Indo-Japanese Workshop was organized by the JNIAS in collaboration with Osaka University, Japan, on 28 December 2009. The Workshop was attended by six scholars from Japanese universities, JNIAS fellows and several distinguished scholars from various departments of JNU. All the Japanese scholars presented papers at the Workshop.

Orient-Occident Interactions – A joint conference with scholars from University of Warwick and JNIAS/JNU was held on 25 January 2010. Early this year JNIAS had organized a meeting with the delegation from the University of Warwick as a follow up to the MoU that had been signed between the two universities. One of the activities that had been announced at that meeting was a joint seminar/conference on the theme ‘Orient-Occident Interactions’ in the hope that it will lead to a larger research collaboration on this subject.
