JNU Faculty club organised the following events:

1. On 14th April 2007, a Talk related to breast cancer detection, by Dr. Anita Khokhar from Dept. of Community Medicine at V.M.Medical College and associated Safdarjang Hospital. A 90minutes programme was very beneficial in sensitizing the participants towards breast cancer and also teaching them how to do a breast self exam with the help of a multimedia presentation, a CD and demonstration on models of the technique and back demonstration by the participants. All the women more than 18 years of age can be taught this technique.

2. A Cultural Evening  on 27th April was organised by Faculty Club for faculty and their families at 6 p.m. at SSS 2 auditorium. The show was host some of the organised programmes by the faculty, their spouses and children.


NATURE WALK

JNU FC  organised 2 nature walks. First one was on Sunday 11th February ’07 at 7.30 am and second one was on Sunday 4th March ‘07 at 7 am



JNUFC organized Sports Day for the faculty and their families
on 20th Nov. 2005 (9a.m. onwards) at  JNU Stadium

A gala and successful sports day for the faculty and their families was held on 20th Nov. 2005. The goal of JNUFC is to have such events frequently where people can meet, interact and sports and games is a good medium of interaction and building overall personality. The Chief Guest Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, JNU, flagged off the sporting events.
Various events were held like for children, 100 meters sprint, high jump and long jump and lemon spoon race and cycle race for both boys and girls under different categories (5-7 years) (8-11 years) (12-15 years). For women events like cricket ball throw, shot put, discus and javelin throw were conducted. Unfortunately no time was left to organize any events for men. The winners were given first, second and third positions, they were also given medals along with the certificates. Certificate of participation too were given to children and women who participated. Senior citizens and senior faculty distributed the prizes.

JNU Faculty Club Cultural evening
on 5th November 2005  at  Faculty Centre Lawn

The cultural evening started at 6 p.m. with a welcome by Secretary, JNUFC. Two minutes silence was observed by everybody to remember the Delhi Blast victims. The evening was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Vice Chancellor Prof. B.B. Bhattacharya, Mrs. Bhattacharya. President, JNUFC gave an inaugural address highlighting the events held in the past and the events going to be in future and the proposals ahead for the JNUFC. Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts by the JNUFC and extended his cooperation and support regarding the activities taken up by the JNUFC.

JNUFC organized Cultural evening
on 23rd April 2005  at  Faculty Club Lawn

A pleasant evening with a gathering of more than 25 families with young and old, all in colorful attires, bubbly kids all dressed to perform. A welcome address was given y the president, Dr. Abhijeet JNUFC. More than 20 children hopped to the stage to either sing rhymes, slokas, poetry, songs, or to play music and some danced to the tunes of film songs, and some performing classical dance. Rector, Prof. Arora, our guest for the evening joined the show and expressed encouragement for such events and extended his support. The show ended with melodious classical singing by Dr. Vijaylaksmi and Dr. Manjusri Chauhan, followed by vote of thanks by Vice. President, Dr. Neelika and ended the great evening with fine dinner.
