Prof. Sanjay Puri of the School of Physical Sciences has been elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore.

Prof. Amit Shovan Roy, Chairperson, Centre for International Trade & Development, School of International Studies have been elected as a fellow of the Royal Society for Promotion of Health, UK.

Prof. Kasturi Datta, School of Environmental Sciences have been conferred with FICCI Award, Twenty-fifth G. P. Chatterjee Memorial Award and Basanti Devi Amir Chand Award.

Mr. Kushagra, M.Sc, School of Environmental Sciences has been awarded “President of India Gold Medal” for the year 2006.

Ms. Priyadarshini Singh, M.A. (PIS), School of International Studies, has been awarded “J.C. Tandon Memorial Scholarship” for the year 2005.

Ms. Paramita Banerjee, Research Scholar, (M.Phil/Ph.D), Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences and Mr. Rajesh Kumar Ranjan, Research Scholar (M.Phil/Ph.D.), School of Environmental Sciences have been awarded “Sat Paul Memorial Fellowship” for the year 2005.

Mr. Mai Ram, Research Scholar (M.Phil/Ph.D), (Sanskrit), Centre for Sanskrit Studies, has been awarded “Swamy Pranavananda Memorial Research Fellowship” for the year 2005.

Ms. Akansha Khatri and Ms. Shivani MA (Korean), Centre for Japanese and North East Asian Studies; Ms. K.H. Roopa and Mr. Aditya Singh, BA (Hons.), (Korean), Centre for Japanese and North East Asian Studies; and Mr. Aribam Joy Sharma, M.Phil/Ph.D, Centre for East Asian Studies, School of International Studies have been awarded “Korean Foundation Scholarship”.

Ms. Tanusree Paul, (MA) Geography, Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences and Mr. Shekar Gupta, MCA, School of Computer & System Sciences have been awarded “Nurul Hasan Scholarship” for the year 2005.

Ms. Taniya Gupta, B.A. (Hons), Centre of Spanish Studies, School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies has been awarded ”The Juhi Prasad Award” for the year 2005.

Ms. K. Padmini Iyer, B.A. (Hons), Centre for French and Francophone Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies has been awarded Medal in the memory of Late Sh. Devendra Kumar Gupta a former B.A. student of CFFS.

Ms. Ashwani Ganeshan & Ms. Liya Vimal, M.A. (Spanish), Centre of Spanish Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies have been awarded ”Rafael and Irene Pelaez Award”.

Ms. Sunitha B Nair, Research Scholar, Centre for Social Medicine and Comminity Health, School of Social Sciences has been awarded “Jawaharlal Nehru Young Leaders Fellowship” under the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) of the Nippon Foundation & Tokyo Foundation, Japan.

Ms. Kriti Jain, Research Scholar, Centre for Economic Studies and Planning School of Social Sciences has been awarded “Dr. A.N. Bhatt Memorial Prize” for the year 2004-05.

Mr. Vikas Kumar Yadav, M.A (Russian), Centre for Russian Studies, School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies has been awarded “Chandersekhar Prasad Scholarship” for the year 2005-06.

Mr. Bipin Kumar Jha, M.A (Sanskrit), Special Centre for Sanskrit Studies has been awarded “D.S. Gardi Sanskrit Scholarship” for the year 2005-06.

Ms. Chandramallika Biswas, Research Scholar, Centre for the Study of Regional Development, School of Social Sciences has been awarded “Sat Paul Mittal Fellowship” in Population Studies.

Ms. Archana Chatterjee, an alumnus, School of Environmental Sciences (1987-89) has been nominated by the WWF International as their representative on the Scientific and Technical Research Panel of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance for the Triennium 2005-2006.
