Prof. Varun Sahni, Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament, School of International Studies has been awarded the prestigious VKRV Rao Prize in Social Science for the year 2006.

Ms. Anjana Bakshi, Research Scholar, Centre for Indian Languages, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, has been awarded “Jawaharlal Nehru Young Leaders Fellowship” for the year 2007 under Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) of the Nippon Foundation and Tokyo Foundation, Japan.

Mr. Pardeep Kumar, Research Scholar, School of Life Sciences has been awarded ”Young Investigator Award” of Association of Clinical Biochemists of India (ACBI) for his poster presentation  ”Antiaging effect of Dehydroepiendrosterone on Membrane Functions in Aging Rat Brain Region” in 34th ACBION conference held from 18-20 December, 2007 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Ms. Reishangphy Kashyap, B.A. (Korean) and Ms. Kanchan Mala, M.A. (Korean), School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, won the cash award for the Meritorious Students in Korean Studies on the basis of over all academic performance for the year 2006-07.

Ms. Sukanya Sarbadhikari, Research Scholar, Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, won ’Prof. T.K. Oommen Cash Award’ for the year 2007 on the basis of the highest CGPA at the end of M.A. (Sociology) programme. 

Ms. Sarika Gupta, Research Scholar, Centre for Chinese & South East Asian Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, won the Gold Medal awarded in memory of late Mrs. Vimla Saran (former Associate Professor of Chinese) for securing highest CGPA at the end of M.A. (Chinese) programme for the year 2007.

Mr. Jawed Akhtar and Ms. Aqlima Khatoon, M.A. (Urdu) students, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, won the ’Sajjad Zaheer and Ruzia Zaheer Merit Award’ for the year 2006 for standing first among men and women students respectively.

Ms. Ayeeta Biswas, Research Scholar, School of Arts & Aesthetics, won the Medal awarded in the memory of late Mr. Kanu Priya Bharadwaj (former M.A. student of School of Arts and Aesthetics) for the year 2007 on securing the highest CGPA at the end of 2^nd semester.

Mr. Varun Dev Sharma, B.A. (French), School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, won the Medal awarded in the memory of late Sh. Devendra Kumar Gupta (former B.A. student of CFFS/SLLCS) for the year 2007 for the best academic performance.

Ms. Neetu, Research Scholar, School Environmental Sciences, has been awarded the “Chandersekhar Prasad Scholarship” for SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped categories.

Mr. Rajdeep, Mr. Jyoti Shankar Deep and Mr. Suratha K. Malik, Research Scholars, Centre for Political Studies, School of Social Sciences, have been awarded the “Nirman Foundation Scholarship” for the year 2007-08.
