Professor Vidhu Verma organized a two day international conference on 'Methodological Horizons: Changing Frontiers of Political Theory' on 9-10 January 2014 in the Auditorium and committee room, SSS- I. This seminar was mainly funded by the ICSSR, Northern Region, UGC-DSA and JNU.

Two Day International Workshop on Urban India and New Forms of Democratic Politics on 25-26 October 2012. The conference was organized in collaboration with Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Gottingen, Germany, and the financial support from DSA programme, BMBF (Germany) and ICSSR (India).
A Two Day Workshop on 'Development and Social Movements in India' was organized by Professor Valerian Rodrigues on 30 and 31 March 2011. Eminent scholars, activists, journalists and academicians participated from across the country.
A day long workshop was organized by Dr Manindra N Thakur to initiate a dialogue on Religion and Politics on 19 November, 2010. The dialogue attempted to explore the following: a) Religion and Politics in Contemporary Times: Mapping the Intellectual Concerns, b) Resurgence of Religion: Globalization, Identity and Politics, c) New Religious Movement: Philosophy, Politics and Social Change. Scholars from Delhi University, IIT Kanpur, CSD, CSDS, Indian Social Institute, Ambedkar University participated in this dialogue.
