2013-2014
Worksop on Discrimination, Difference and Legal Justice in India on 14 October 2014. Coordinated by Prof Vidhu Verma. Click here for detailed program.

Professor Vidhu Verma organized a two day international conference on 'Methodological Horizons: Changing Frontiers of Political Theory' on 9-10 January 2014 in the Auditorium and committee room, SSS- I. This seminar was mainly funded by the ICSSR, Northern Region, UGC-DSA and JNU.

Dr Ajay Gudavarthy organised a two day international conference on 'Understanding Maoist Politics in India ' 24-25 February, 2014, SSS I committee room. This seminar was funded by ICSSR and UGC-DSA.

Professor Anupama Roy organised a Young Scholars Conference, ‘Political Ideas and Democratic Politics in India’, 6-8 March, 2014 funded by DSA-UGC, JNU and ICSSR, Northern Region.

Young Scholars' Conference on Democracy, Development and Social Justice, from 21 to 23 March, 2013 with support from UGC-DSA & ICSSR (Northern Regional Centre).

Two Day National Conference on Political Mobilizations and Social Movements in Contemporary India, 31 January - 1 February 2012 organized by Professor Pralay Kanungo.

Two Day National Conference on Legislative Institutions in India: Assessment and Future Directions, 1 - 2 September 2011 organized by Professor Sudha Pai in collaboration with PRS Legislative Research, New Delhi.

Workshops:
A One day national workshop was organized on November 9, 2013 on the Teaching Comparative Politics in India by Dr. T.G. Suresh.

Two Day International Workshop on Urban India and New Forms of Democratic Politics on 25-26 October 2012. The conference was organized in collaboration with Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Gottingen, Germany, and the financial support from DSA programme, BMBF (Germany) and ICSSR (India).

A Two Day Workshop on 'Development and Social Movements in India' was organized by Professor Valerian Rodrigues on 30 and 31 March 2011. Eminent scholars, activists, journalists and academicians participated from across the country.

A day long workshop was organized by Dr Manindra N Thakur to initiate a dialogue on Religion and Politics on 19 November, 2010. The dialogue attempted to explore the following: a) Religion and Politics in Contemporary Times: Mapping the Intellectual Concerns, b) Resurgence of Religion: Globalization, Identity and Politics, c) New Religious Movement: Philosophy, Politics and Social Change. Scholars from Delhi University, IIT Kanpur, CSD, CSDS, Indian Social Institute, Ambedkar University participated in this dialogue.

Professor G. Balachandran, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva, Switzerland, delivered H.L. PARWANA MEMORIAL LECTURE on Nailing a Crisis Lacking a Name: Cognition, Politics, Policy, c. 2007-2012, 29 October, 2012.
