CWS M.Phil

M.Phil:

M. Phil is being offered from Monsoon Semester 2015 (contact JNU administration for prospectus and further details)

The structure of the M. Phil will follow the pattern current in many of the Centres in the School of Social Sciences. 16 credits in the first year, is allocated for course work, and another 10 credits in the second year, for a dissertation in a chosen topic in the field. In total, the M. Phil will be for 26 credits.

Each student will have to take one compulsory course (WS 601, Feminist Theory and Social Research). In addition, students have a choice currently of five papers, of four credits each, from which they may choose three papers. These are in the fields of labour, politics, political violence, development, religion, visual culture, ethnography and oral history.
