Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory
The Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory at School of International Studies conducts 5 courses in Political Studies for the MA (PIS) programme of the School.
These are 3 Compulsory courses - Comparative Politics, Political Thought I and II; 1 Core course - Indian Politics; and 1 Optional course – Critical Thought in the Global South.
The faculty of CCPPT also guide doctoral research of students admitted through the direct PhD programme. Areas of interest for the Centre are
a) Contemporary Theory, which would reflect interdisciplinary developments in the field and with a comparative dimension towards traditions of thought and politics in Asia, Africa and the Arab world and
b) Developing a theoretically inflected understanding of emerging democratic practices globally, with special emphasis on India.
