The Alumni Affairs office has organized a number of activities, to develop the Alumni Network of JNU. These include the following:
- JNU Alumni Annual Meet 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
- Prof. Anand Kumar former Chief Advisor from 2008 to 2011.
- Creating a data base of JNU Alumni.
- Creating an Alumni Website on JNU Website.
- Two workshops for placement and Career Counselling & Guidance in JNU on August 26th 2009 and April 8th, 2011.
- A talk by the Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai of Nepal who is also an alumnus of the University. He visited the campus on 22 October, 2011. Dr. Bhattarai spoke movingly about the role that JNU played in his life, crediting it with his political growth.
- The Alumni Lecture Series- the first lecture was delivered by the writer CS Lakshmi (Ambai), an alumnus of JNU, on 6 March, 2012, to an audience of students, alumni, and faculty.
- The 2nd Alumni Lecture was delivered by Ambassador Dr. S Jaishankar on "India and China: Perception and Reality" on March 14, 2013.
- The 3rd lecture titled "Ganga Dhaba to Beijing, D.C., Geneva and Dubai" was delivered by Shri Venu Rajamony, Press Secretary, President of India, Rashtrapati Bhawan, on 9th October, 2014.
- Holding the first elections for the Alumni Association of JNU on 15th September 2012, as per the constitution passed by the Executive Council of the university.
- A momentous one day conference on the experiences of JNUSU presidents, "Life beyond JNUSU", on 6th January 2013.
- Screening of "Wo Subah Kidhar Nikal Gayi" on November 1, 2013 by our alumnus Dr. Tripurari Sharan, D.G. Doordarshan, which is based on JNU experience.
- Screening of the film "India by Song" on 16th April 2014 the film is by Mr. Vijay Singh an alumnus of JNU.
- On 14th October, 2014 our Alumna Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Honourable Minister of Commerce & Industry, released the documentary entitled, "JNU: The dream and the vision". This film was produced and directed by our alumnus Dr. Indrajeet Pant.
- The establishment of a branch of India Coffee House on the campus at Aravali International Guest House (opening shortly). This will be open to all members of JNU. Community.
