CIPOD Alumni

The Centre’s record indicates a diversity of destinations. Several former students have gone overseas to pursue doctoral and post-doctoral programmes. Many students end up in faculty positions in the university system, both in India and abroad as also in civil services. A number of important think tanks and research institutes in New Delhi – such as the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and the Institute of Conflict Management – count former CIPOD students among their research personnel. Journalism, both print and electronic, and the voluntary sector are other areas in which CIPOD alumni have made a mark over the years. The Centre also has on its rolls government officers, military and civilian, who return to their parent institutions after completing their programme of study.
