The Embassy of Japan takes pleasure in informing you about the Japan Institute of International affairs (JIIA) Short-Term Program for Young Research Fellows. We seek your cooperation in circulating this message to potential candidates who might be interested in applying in this program.
The program aims to invite young researchers specializing in Asia's territorial, sovereignty, international law, and historical issues to Japan and provide opportunities for them to conduct research at Japanese universities and think tanks, participate in local field surveys, and exchange opinions with Japanese researchers. This program seeks to deepen Asian researchers' understanding of Japan's territorial, sovereignty, and historical issues, while promoting mutual international exchange and helping to establish research networks after the fellows return to their home countries.
An overview of the key particulars is provided below. Please refer to the attached PDFs for detailed information:
•Number of Participants: Approximately 3 per year (one per country)
• Duration (FY2026): Late June to early September 2026 (approximately 90 days)
• Eligibility: Young researchers under 35 affiliated with think tanks or universities in the relevant country, with English communication skills
•Obligations: Participation in field surveys, submission of monthly reports, an interim paper abstract presentation before departure, and submission of a research paper within three months after returning
•Training Content: Exchanges with think tanks, universities, and Japanese government institutions on territorial and historical issues, plus field surveys in regions such as Shimane, Okinawa, and Hokkaido
•Benefits: Round-trip airfare, living and housing expenses in Japan, and travel and accommodation costs for field surveys (in accordance with program regulations)
•Selection Method: Document screening based on application materials and activity plans, followed by a final Zoom interview for shortlisted candidates.
Churkin Moscow international
Model United Nations
On behalf of the C-MIMUN Secretariat we are pleased to invite the students of your University to participate in the annual Churkin Moscow International Model United Nations (C-MIMUN) 2026, held by the United Nations Association of Russia and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) under the auspices of the World Federation of the United Nations Associations.
The Model is to take place in Moscow on April 12-17, 2026 at MGIMO University.
Our Model UN is well-known not only in Russia: around 800 delegates from different countries participate in the event annually. The work of thirteen committees is to be modeled in Russian, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese. To provide a high level of discussions, the Secretariat conducts a thorough selection of participants and begins working with future delegates shortly after the registration. This year’s registration already opened on November 14.

Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES)
The Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-professionals Scheme (MATES) is a new temporary mobility pathway for Indian graduates and early career professionals with targeted qualifications in identified sectors of demand.
MATES will provide young professionals with the opportunity to live and work in Australia for up to 2 years, and to gain employment and valuable experience in their areas of expertise.
Relevant sectors include renewable energy, mining, engineering, information communications technology, artificial intelligence, financial technology and agricultural technology.
Up to 3,000 temporary places will be allocated annually through a visa pre-application ‘ballot’ process, with successful entrants able to apply for a Temporary Work (International Relations) (Subclass 403) visa in the MATES stream. Participants will be able to bring dependents, who will not be counted towards the cap.

“Digital Manufacturing – BRICS+ Future Skills Challenge 2025" International Online Championship.
The R-Pro Concern is developing "Rational Production" (R-Pro) software – a digital platform for creating digital twins, simulation modeling, offline programming of robots and other industrial equipment.
With R-Pro software platform, we are developing educational solutions – digital learning factories which are actively used by universities worldwide for training in the field of innovative digital manufacturing. More details about our software can be found in the attached brochure.
The International Championship "Digital Industry – BRICS+ Future Skills Challenge" is conducted with R-Pro software. The championship presentation is also included in the attachment.
The competitions are held online according to the WorldSkills rules and are free of charge for universities. During the competition, teams apply their skills in creating and optimizing the digital manufacturing of the future. Teams consist of four participants and one accompanying compatriot expert (a representative of the university).
Competitive tasks at the championship include:
Task 1. Creation of the digital twin of a future production facility.
Task 2. Digital engineering and virtual commissioning of a robotic cell or line.
Task 3. Digital analysis and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Task 4. Creation of the virtual tour around the manufacture of future.
The International Championship «BRICS+ Future Skills Challenge» has already been held twice. The last time teams from different parts of the world took part in it: Belarus, Bolivia, China, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Peru, South Africa and Russia.
