P. Sainath a JNU Alumnus, is the founder editor of PARI (People's Archive of Rural India), an online initiative of documenting the everyday lives of everyday people. Earlier he has served as Rural Affairs Editor of The Hindu. He was the winner of the
Magsaysay Award in 2007and The World Media Summit Global Award for Excellence in Public Welfare reporting in 2014. He has
also taught at journalism schools in India and abroad. His book Everybody Loves a Good Drought (Penguin India, 1996) was declared a Penguin Classic in January 2013. His initiative 'Visible Work, Invisible Women' is now on PARI, as a fully curated, online still-photo exhibition.
