SLS Achievements

SLS have always been an active hub of diverse research activities. Several national and international research grants (DBT, DST and UGC, and many international agencies) have been secured by faculties and students of SLS which aids in doing cutting edge research and publications in highly reputed journals. The innovative ideas lead to the long list of patents added to the name of SLS. 

Special Recognitions:
Recognitions from both the government of India and significant scientific societies outside the country have been a matter of regular occurrence. SLS have laurels with Padma Awards, Bhatnagar awards, JC Bose fellows, elected members of National and International academies and peer reviewers and editors of several national and international journals.

Other awards and fellowships: 
Not only the faculties, but the profile of SLS students is enriched with the tag of prestigious awards like INSA young scientists, INSPIRE, Khothari, Ramanujan, Ramalingaswami and other prestigious post-doctoral fellowships. We take pride in sharing the fact that our students have been placed in IITs, Central/State Universities, pharma Industry and not to miss the Indian civil services. 

Research Accomplishment: 
To stay ahead with ever changing and dynamic research area, a common platform for brainstorming session, one to one interaction and to have a broad networking profile, several conferences, workshops have been organized by JNU. Emphasis was also given to the impart skills to young, budding scientists through annual events of SLS like summer school, winter school programs and hands-on training on several topics per semester. Students from all over India are selected for SLS outreach program “summer/winter school” based on the merit and research proposal. 

Academic and cultural activities: 
Annual events like Biosparks were solely managed and convened by the SLS students with major support coming from the School's resources. It includes oral presentations, panel discussions and research proposals in addition to the invited lectures by scientists. The main theme of this event is to promote an interactive spirit among distinguished scientists and student researchers. 

Spandan is another annual event organized by the students once a year. It’s a cultural event which gives the students an opportunity to display their talents in poetry, dramatics and other similar tasks.
