Abstract: Reflecting in some ways the typical view of the relationship between justice and sacrificial love, thinkers like Kierkegaard and Nygren argue that sacrificial love or agape is wholly unconnected with justice. These argue that sacrificial love is not just above justice but also seemingly opposed to it. Thus there is "justice" and there is "love" and never should the two meet. But in this talk, I shall argue that justice is a foundational and necessary condition for genuine sacrificial love in all that we do—from our personal relationships to our business relationships and beyond.
