Private & Public Cloud
Introducing JNU Cloud Computing Platform. The cloud computing stack and software suite built on well established open source softwares has been carefully blended with custom python codes to address granular requirements of CIS and JNU's computing needs. Over the period of last 2 months it has been well tested by CIS team for various production and testing parameters to ensure stable and customized performance in accordance to the already established infrastructure of CIS.
The stack is built with care to address over and under utilization of resources, frequent requirement of additional disk spaces and runs on software defined networks (SDN) to deliver the most efficient and secure networking environments. The capability of generating reports of resource utilization by various running instances will help us plan better for hardware procurement in future and to cut short present allocations, saving resources. The stack is also capable of delivering elastic compute requirement and docker instances which are transforming concepts of virtualisation worldwide.
JNU cloud is made hybrid, delivering both traditional hyper-visor based virtualisation and docker based virtualisation making it future proof. This platform is seen as an eventual replacement of the exiting physical and virtual infrastructure and will catapult CIS into the modern cloud technology. To ensure stack's agility over UPS and PAC failures within DataCenter, CIS is working towards establishing parallel data center cloud, for HA needs of running applications. The present cloud runs on HA environment within the CIS datacenter and on HA network topology to ensure no services are affected by UPS and link failures.
