Position: Junior Research Fellow (01 Post)
Project Title: Mapping Hazard Zonation of High-Altitude Lake Breaches for Sustainable Development in the Tawang Region of Arunachal Himalaya, India
Sponsor of the Project: Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India
Essential Qualification: Postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks in Geography or Earth Sciences, with specialization in Geomorphology or allied fields.
Desirable Qualification:
* Proven skill of RS-GIS application
* Knowledge of GLOF modelling
* Experience of working in glacial environments
* Knowledge of collection of samples for chronological reconstruction
Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on the date of application. (relaxable upto 5 years for Women and SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Monthly Emoluments: ₹37,000 + HRA @ 30% (for the initial two years) & 42000/+ HRA @30% for 3rd Year
Project Tenure: 3 years (1+1+1). Appointed for one year on a contractual basis but extendable based on performance review by the project team.
Job Description:
* Extensive analysis on GLOF assessment, high-resolution remote sensing, and field measurements
* Data integration using GIS platforms.
* Field measurement including bathymetric survey and ecological data collection from high-altitude glacial lakes in Arunachal Pradesh
