Funding Agency: ANRF, MAHA-AI Mission for Science & Engineering
Fellowship: RA-II: ₹61,000/month + 30% HRA RA-I: ₹58,000/month + 30% HRA
Duration: 12 months initially; extendable up to full project duration (36 months) based on performance
Last Date to Apply: 10th October 2026
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science or Physics or Physical Chemistry (or Computational Biology, Biophysics, Applied Mathematics, or closely allied discipline) with a strong track record in AI/ML research and coding, and demonstrable interest in biology. At least one first-author peer-reviewed publication.
Age Limit: ≤ 35 years; relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/PH/Women and 3 years for OBC (ANRF norms)
Essential Skills: • AI/ML coding: PyTorch (preferred), TensorFlow; Python scientific stack (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, scikit-learn); Git & reproducible ML workflows.
• Deep-learning architectures: Graph Neural Networks (PyTorch Geometric / DGL), Transformer / attention models, generative models (diffusion, VAE, flow).
• HPC & programming: multi-GPU training on SLURM/PBS clusters; Python + one of C/C++ for performance code.
• Interest in biology: willingness to engage deeply with chromatin biology, 3D genome organisation, and cancer genomics; prior exposure to Hi-C / Micro-C / ATAC-seq / ChIP-seq / RNA-seq is highly desirable.
Desirable: Physics-informed networks; diffusion-transformers with guidance; self-supervised & foundation-model pretraining; polymer physics, Monte Carlo / MD (LAMMPS, GROMACS); large-scale data; CUDA / GPU-accelerated simulation; open-source contributions.
Application: Send a single consolidated PDF — (1) Latest CV with publication list & 2 referees; (2) Ph.D. thesis abstract + 2 best publications; (3) One-page statement of research interest — to arnab[at]jnu[dot]ac[dot]in with subject "LifeTwin-AI RA – [RA-I / RA-II] – [Your Name]".
Selection: PI-led shortlisting → online interview (3-day advance notice) → immediate joining on selection. Position remains open until a suitable candidate is found.
