Applications were invited for the following posts in a Neuro-cognitive Linguistics Project Funded by Max Plank Institute for psycolinguistics, Netherlands entitled" The impact of literacy and numeracy acquisition on cognitive functioning in illiterate adults - A longitudinal approach" for a period of one year likely to be extended for one more year.

Brief Project Description: This innovative project is expected to yield important insights into how literacy and/or numeracy affects cognitive functioning. We will provide literacy training to a group of healthy illiterate adults living in the Delhi/NCR area of India. The participants will be tested on a large battery of linguistic and non-linguistic tasks before the onset of the literacy training, and immediately after training and followed by 6 months training in maths and numeracy and another round of testing the cognitive functioning.
