Research Assistants (Two)

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Applicants should have an M.A. Degree in Linguistics/Sociology/Psychology/ Anthropology/History or allied social science disciplines.

Desirable Qualifications: (i) some research experience in the field studies, data elicitation, documentation etc. (ii) Knowledge of tools and software for data elicitation and documentation, statistical methods and tools like SPSS, R or any other s/w for data analysis.

Salary: Rs. 15,000/- (Consolidated) per month.

Junior Research Fellow (one post)

Fellowship: According to DBT/DST rules

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc./M.Tech. degree (with a minimum of 55% marks) or equivalent in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology or any other related field with two-year research experience. The candidate having experience in advanced molecular biology techniques, directed evolution techniques, RT-PCR, cloning, Protein Purification, Mycobacterium tuberculosis culture and/or computer skills with experience in NGS data analysis will be given preference.

The position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on the qualification/experience depending on the total number of applications received. JNU may select candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.

Essential Qualifications: MD/MDS with experience of at least 3 years in recognized medical college or research institute as senior resident/ Demonstrator after completion of MD/MDS.

Desirable: Human sample handling with experience of clinical/ Pathological Studies including the history taking, recruitment of patients in the study and follow up. Experience in field of TB research is preferable.

Dean, SBT intends to hold a walk-in-interview to select candidate for Project Assistant in UGC-UKIERI  funded project on 26th September, 2018 (Wednesday) at 10:30 A.M. at Room No. 129, School of Biotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067.

Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidate must have 10+2/H.Sc. with Science from any recognised Board/University.

Desirable : Candidate should have prior experience of working in University/Research Laboratory and having knowledge of MS-Office.

Salary : Rs. 15,000/- (Consolidated) per month.

Interested eligible candidates may attend the interview as per above mentioned schedule with all their original certificates/ mark sheets with an attested photocopy of each of it and a recent passport size photograph along with the updated Bio-data. No TA/DA would be provided for attending interview. The candidates not fulfilling eligibility criteria wouldn’t be considered for selection process.

Advertisement for One JRF Project Position

One JRF for the DST funded project “Analysis of cross-talk between adrenergic and NOX Signaling in Cardiac Muscle” in the laboratory of Prof S K Goswami, School of Life Sciences, JNU. The duration of the project is till 31st March, 2020.

Essential qualifications: M Sc in Zoology/Biotechnology with good academic records. One year experience in mammalian cell culture, Western blot analysis, standard biochemical assays like estimation of enzyme activities, Immunocytochemistry, cell fractionation etc.

Candidates having experience in animal handling and assays for reactive oxygen species will be preferred.

Initial appointment will be for six months and if the performance is satisfactory, it will be extended till the end of the project.

Remuneration is Rs 25,000 per month for NET qualified candidates/Rs 16,000 per month for those without NET plus HRA.
