Applications are invited from eligible candidates for three temporary positions including one Senior Research Fellow; one Junior Research Fellow and one Scientific Assistant in DBT sponsored research project under the supervision of Dr. Dipankar Ghosh, Special Centre for Molecular Medicine (SCMM), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
Title of the project: Targeted Profiling of mucosal cationic antimicrobial peptides and cytokines in culture positive neonatal sepsis".
Post I: Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Salary: 35,000 +24% HRA: 43400
Duration: 9 months (extendible to 2 years)
Essential qualifications: Candidate should be M.Sc. in Genetics, Microbiology or Biotechnology with at least an aggregate of 55% marks and minimum 3 years’ experience in immunology, BSL-2 pathogen – (human) cell interaction research. At least one international, pubmed cited publication.
Desirable qualifications: experience in biomedical research including Indian Institutional Biosafety and Human Ethics Regulations; handling human clinical samples. Experience in primary and continuous human cell cultures, infectious co-cultures, in vitro and/or in vivo models of inflammation, mass-spectrometry based metabolomics, flow cytometry and MIQE accepted real time PCR. Excellent basic knowledge and interest in innate immunology.
Post II: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Salary: 31,000/- per month + HRA (24%)
Duration: 3 months (extendible to 2 years)
Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology with at least an aggregate of 55% marks. Minimum 1 year laboratory experience in BSL-2 microbiology, biofilms, basic mammalian cell culture and molecular biology.
Desirable: Bacterial cloning and expression, real time PCR, immunocytochemistry and western blots. Excellent basic knowledge and interest in innate immunology.
Post III: Scientific Assistant
Salary: 20,000 +24% HRA :24800
Duration: 12 months (extendible to 2 years)
Essential qualifications: Candidate should have M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with at least an aggregate of 50 % marks.
Desirable: experience in handling human clinical samples, microbiology, laboratory management, making general laboratory reagents and media. Basic molecular biology skills.
